Meet Our Volunteers – Robin Jacks
From marketing savvy to supply chain know-how, Robin Jacks has built a career developing expertise in the functions that many businesses—small or large—need to succeed. Now, she is using the knowledge accumulated over her three-decade career to mentor SCORE Lancaster clients.
Although Robin is a newer member of the Lancaster team, she’s an experienced SCORE counselor, mentoring clients of the Charlotte, North Carolina SCORE chapter.
Robin says the most rewarding part of counseling is “…working with people and helping them get on the right track.” She noted that while many of the potential business owners who come to SCORE are able to start and build successful companies, other clients eventually decide not to jump into the entrepreneurial pool. “A client might think ‘this should work,’ but through counseling they find that something is missing, such as the ability to support overhead and inventory,” she says. “Our mission,” Robin continues, “is to make clients really sit down and think about what to do and how to do it.”
This McCaskey High School graduate also devotes her time to a score of other community projects, including Meals on Wheels, Toys for Tots, and the Lebanon VA Medical Center. She is also the owner of Diamond Jacks, a special events and meeting planning service.
