“Networking Nights” from SCORE Lancaster

June 19, 2010

By Tom Burgum, SCORE

SCORE Lancaster is bringing business owners together for the purpose of networking and growing their businesses. The new program, called Networking Nights, is open to any SCORE Lancaster client or SCORE roundtable group member who owns an existing business. Network with other business owners, give an elevator speech to all the members, pass out business cards and brochures, and get tips on how to give and get referrals to help each other grow your businesses.

Networking Nights are not open social functions. They are a structured format, based on successful networking group models.

The group will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m., the third Thursday of the first month of each quarter. Meetings will be at The Eden Resort and Conference Center, Lancaster, on:

Thursday, July 15, 2010
Thursday, October 21, 2010
Thursday, January 20, 2011
Thursday, April 21, 2011

Participation is open to 40 businesses. In the event that two competitive businesses register to participate, the business that responded first will be accepted. Once a business type is represented, no competitors will be accepted.

Each meeting will be facilitated by SCORE Lancaster volunteers and will include a 15 minute presentation on a ‘best practice,’ brief ‘elevator speeches’ by each participant, and at least an hour of networking to share ideas, leads and referrals. Participants commit to stay involved in the group for one year.

The fee is $15 per person for each meeting. Payment can be in cash that night or by credit card in advance to SCORE Lancaster.

For more information and/or a registration form, contact SCORE Lancaster Counselor Carol Aubitz at 717-295-7498, or email her at
